After lunch we went to the market in downtown Costa Rica to buy souvenirs and gifts. We ended the evening with dinner at the mission house. It was a very emotional evening as we said goodbye to the incredible Cunningham family. Joey presented Karla with the team leader stole and we all prayed for the success of their ministry. We will never forget our time here, the friendships made, and the lives touched by God. Blessings to all!

Day 6: VBS at the Methodist School
Our last day in Costa Rica was as special as our first. In the morning we went back to the Methodist School and performed our skit and song for all of the elementary classes. We also made crafts and played games. Even though we have done this skit many times our kids still has amazing energy.

Day 5: 3rd grade day camp
Today we took part in a field day for the 3rd grade class from the Methodist School. We played water games, relay games and trust games. We were outside almost the entire day and it was HOT! After lunch we presented our VBS skit and songs which the kids really enjoyed. That evening we were able to eat at a restaurant owned by a former prison inmate who went through the Voz de Liberdad program with Carlos Cunningham. It was an authentic Costa Rican restaurant and it was delicious.

Day 4: La Paz Waterfall Park
Today we took a break from our mission work to spend some time enjoying the beautiful scenery in Costa Rica. We went to the La Paz Waterfall Park where we saw birds, snakes, butterflies, leopards and cougars. There are also 5 amazing waterfalls (which we hiked a lot of stairs to see!). We were joined by Carla and Carlos Cunningham and their children. Everyone had a great time. We had dinner back at the mission house where Carlos did a presentation on the life changing work he and Carla are doing with the prison ministry in Costa Rica.
Day 3: Elder Care Center & Home Visits
Today was another blessed day on our trip. In the morning we went to the elder care center where we did our VBS skit and songs. The elders were so happy to see us and really enjoyed the presentation. The kids even presented the evangacube in Spanish. We also played bingo, painted their nails and played checkers.
After lunch we went on home visits with Carla and Carlos. We were all a little nervous about this but it turned out to be an amazing experience. The kids gave their testimonies, presented the evangecube and got to know the homeowners. During one of the visits a teenage girl committed her life to Christ. After the visits the families were invited back to the purple Church were we played games and presented our VBS.

Day 2: Visiting Schools and VBS
We had an amazing first day here in Costa Rica. We woke up to a delicious breakfast at Francos and had a great devotion by Sarah Grace Speed. Our first stop was a Methodist preschool where we performed our skit, songs songs and played games with precious 3 and 4 year olds. We also got to see Beth Tatum, who used to work at Asbury and has been serving with her family in Costa Rica.
Joey was invited to give his testimony to a group of high school students and he did great. After lunch we visited two public school and did a mini VBS for groups of 5th graders. Our kids made amazing connections with the kids from those schools, there were many God moments and wonderful memories made today.
